Architects do not want a brochure. They want something they can put on a drawing without looking foolish in a site meeting.
This is what I actually send — not a fake IP number we have not measured, not a PDF that pretends we are a German brand. If your consultant in Lucknow or Dubai needs a one-pager against SKUs, WhatsApp the models. I type this against those codes. I attach a photo of the actual piece, not a render.
Body and finish
Body. Die-cast aluminium, from the works in Aligarh. Not sheet. If it feels like a biscuit tin, it is not what we make. Sand-cast pieces still exist in the city. Ours are die-cast on the catalogue range.
Finish. Powder coat, then the antique gold, antique copper, matte black or raw grey on the catalogue. The antique is a wipe. Say so on the spec so nobody expects a two-millimetre plating. Write “powder coat + antique wipe” or you will get a site argument later.
Holder, glass, size
Holder. B22 as standard. E27, E26, B15 on request. Empty housing, or glass and LED, as the quote says. Bulb not included unless we wrote it.
Size. Height × width in inches, and the millimetre line we already print on the site. Measure the cap, not the shaft. Gurugram pillars are often narrower than the photo. I would rather you send a tape photo than pick a lantern that sits like a hat on a pencil.
Poles. Die-cast poles we actually make: 2 ft to 15 ft. A lantern that is not a stock size: physical sample from you, and 50+ pieces. Custom is final — no returns. Do not put IP65 on the title block because a catalogue from China did. We have not lab-tested that number. I will not sign it.
Commercial terms we will stand behind
Ex-works Aligarh. Invoice in INR. GST and freight extra. Trade from 10 pieces on WhatsApp. One to five pieces at retail list — no dealer discount. About 4 days dispatch for around 10 catalogue pieces; 1–2 weeks when the lot is bigger. 50% advance, balance before dispatch.
Warranty. Twelve months, replacement part, not cash. I put the returns page URL in the email so nobody discovers that on the truck. Freight is quoted, not “free shipping” theatre.
